'Good Mood Law - fine print in friendly forms' is a new project of Susanne Hoogwater, owner/legal information designer at www.legalvisuals.nl

The intention of this project is to create a place for 'feel good law', in order to counterbalance the common negative perceptions of interacting with legal information. Another intention is to spark the conversation about new forms and expressions of law that have the potential to transform the experience of legal information into a more positive and functional one, in alignment with the needs and preferences of 21th century information consumers. (Audio-)Visual formats start to gain interest, but the conceptual thinking behind the specific form is even more important. Other formats and modalities may be valuable for different users and different purposes. Legal practitioners seem to be still very far away from accepting new forms as relevant and meaningful for their work.

Scientific research is a very important foundation for the newly developing field of Multisensory law. However creative exploration and free form experiments are vital as well, to encourage 'out-of-the-box thinking', and an integrated multidisciplinary relevance.

Goodmoodlaw experiments with different forms, different senses, and new combinations of legal content and legal communication. The focus is on playfulness. The essence of the vision is serious.

Last but not least, this project hopes to energize and inspire lawyers to bring forth their creative capacities, their qualities that may be slightly overshadowed by the seriousness of their analytical work.

Comments and contributions are very welcome.
